Civil engineering is not a new profession, if we look back in history it could easily be found that civil engineering formally began with the construction of Pyramids in ancient Egypt. It was built following the designs of Imhotep.
What really Civil Engineers really do?
The architects come up with ideas and designs on paper in which the civil engineers convert those into reality. The engineers plan and manage all the aspects of constructions including buildings, roads, bridges, railways, etc.
The civil engineers transform the ideas into real structures, looking into various factors including materials and resources, budgets, workforce, safety, environmental policies, etc.
